We all went to our rooms to get some sleep for a while. I was awakened by knocking on the door. They banged so hard you would have thought it was the police. I looked through the peephole, and it was Jay. I could’ve killed him.

“What were you doing?”

“Sleep!”

“Wake ya ass up! Sleep’s overrated.”

“Boy, leave me alone,” I growled as I rolled my eyes at him, walked back over to the bed, and snuggled back underneath the covers. “What you do most of the day?”

“Hang out. Nothing to really talk about. You still going to the party?”

“Of course!”

I couldn’t wait to see his expression when he saw Shanell if he didn’t know already that she was here. Jay finally sat down in the chair close by the window.

“Whatchu been doing today? Why you so sleepy?”

“I had the best massage ever.”

“From where?”

“A spot here in the hotel. That shit felt so good, you just don’t know. I didn’t want to get off that table.”

“It must was good. You barely wanted to get out the bed.”

I was curious to know if he knew Shanell was here.

“You should do that for Shanell one day.”

“Yeah, something like that would be nice, especially since she’s been in the hospital for the longest. I probably do it for her some time when I get back home. Who knows?”

Bingo! I got what I was looking for. We continued to talk about the past week’s events and the party tonight.

“So what’s the deal with Autumn? Why do you even entertain her?”

“She’s just a real cool girl that I may holla at from time to time.”

“Then what are your thoughts concerning you and Shanell?”

He told me about the flashbacks that he had. He never told me things were coming back to him.

“It’s the strangest thing to have a memory attached to a feeling, and then just like that, it’s gone. It’s hard to explain, but in those instances, I knew who she was. There were strong feelings there. All I can say is that I hope I can get that back, but I don’t wanna risk hurting her if nothing changes. I’m still confused about a lot of things, and Nikki is one of them.

“Jay, please don’t tell me you have feelings for her?”

“No! It’s nothing like that. I just don’t understand why I been cheating on Shanell with Nikki if I’m so in love with Shanell.”

“Jay, you didn’t cheat on her. You slept with Nikki one time, and that only happened because she drugged you. You have always been faithful to Shanell, and if Nikki is telling you otherwise, she’s lying. You wouldn’t give her the time of day, and she hated that.”

“What about Autumn?”

“What about her?”

“I don’t know if I had sex with her, but I kissed her.”

“When?”

“She told me it happened after one of my shows while Shanell was in the hospital.”

“You were cheating on her while she was in a coma?”

“That’s what I’m saying. I don’t know. Autumn just told me she kissed me. She did say she took advantage of the situation.
